Club Etiquette at The Scandinavian

The Scandinavian is a member-based club with the aim of creating the framework for golf of the highest quality in a relaxed atmosphere for both members and guests.

The club’s Board has established these fundamental etiquette guidelines to ensure that everyone enjoys the expected unique and positive golf experience on our two outstanding courses and throughout the facilities.

The etiquette is intended to support our core values and to ensure that they are upheld and promoted in a friendly, flexible, and non-bureaucratic manner.

The Scandinavian’s Three Core Values:

-Respect for the course and facilities

-Respect for the game of golf

-Respect for one another

When followed as intended, this etiquette helps foster honest, courteous, and dignified behaviour among both members and guests. Everyone is reminded to show appropriate consideration for our facilities and for all who use them.

This includes—but is not limited to—the following:

-All persons present at The Scandinavian are expected to dress appropriately for the activity they are engaged in and in accordance with the standard generally upheld by The Scandinavian. As a general guideline, members and guests are encouraged to dress in what is considered Smart Casual or Appropriate Golf Attire.

-Good manners, consideration for others, and discretion are expected at all times, for example when using mobile phones or similar devices on club premises.

Please note that the Board considers it natural that all members of The Scandinavian, at all times when they may be associated with their membership of The Scandinavian, comply with this etiquette and thereby reflect our core values.

Additional Information

Furthermore, members and guests are at all times expected to comply with the official rules and guidelines governing the game of golf, including:

-The Royal & Ancient Rules of Golf

-Applicable Amateur Status Rules

-Dansk Golf Union’s (DGU) Ethical Guidelines

The Board reserves the right to amend this etiquette at any time and to make decisions in any cases of doubt. At the same time, the Board expects that both members and guests will, in a courteous and respectful manner, resolve any disputes or disagreements amicably.
